A recap written by Lee Sonogan

Originally planned for Perth Arena in Australia, UFC 251 took place at the Flash Forum on Yas Island, Abu Dhabi. Jorge has the greater experience in fights vs the champ of a winning streak only professional losing once. Not seeing much of Jorge, he is at a disadvantage due to reach but and height which plays a large part if it goes 5 rounds. Although there is momentum and hitting power on his side. The following is my recap as I watched the fight a few hours after.
Round one and an early takedown has Usman on Top and Jorge safely protecting himself. Up kicking nearly breaking the hold, Usman changes positively as both men stand into a clinch. Pulls out the head and both in striking stances exchanging basic strikes. Some Sharp knees from Jorge to be pushed up to the cage. Barely escaping more combinations Jorge goes on the defensive now he is likely to be lower on the scoreboard. Hard blows as round one ring the break sound.
Dragging the foot, the takedown falls out of proportion. Back to the clinch on the cage, there’s a scramble to set up heavier footing in a chase forward. The last 30 seconds when the action is thrown is more brutal but quite not there just yet. Respect is shown entering round three make the taunts and swinging some jabs/uppercuts to the stomping of the feet against the cage. The ref restarts the fight allowing a breather after the closest thing to a low blow. Big spinning elbow missed but looked cool.
Round four is the most lacklustre round out of them all so far. Finally, Jorge is still hanging in the near, on the other hand, Usman was in control mostly in the ground mounts and the standing bombs delivered. Reach round 5 and Usman wins by anonymous decision. Usman rises to 17 – 1 – 0 to Jorge’s loss bumps his record to 35 – 14 – 0. Boring technical stuff, not enough consistent entertaining stuff.
