Johnny Depp is one of the most versatile actors of the modern era. Originally in his career, he only desired to do independent movies but over the last fifteen years, he has catapulted into the mainstream media playing many memorable characters. With over at least 70 movies under his belt and much more, what characters or roles he has played stands out the most? Depending on your demographic preferences, anything he does could be appealing to you.
1. Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet

In my opinion, this one is an underrated musical movie. Dark and gritty with its high production value, the demon barbers story get pretty brutal. Along with opera-like singing chops needed for this type of film, Depp delivers in multiple forms of performances. The psycho/element blends well as it makes me nostalgic enough to want to watch it again.
2. Pirates of the Caribbean Franchise

Even though the Pirates of Caribbean movies is a family adventure movie, Captain Jack Sparrow is an interesting character that Johnny Deep plays. Bringin the concept to life from a Disney ride at Disney world to the big screen, the energy of this character is perfectly timed for a comedic pirate adventure. Solid pirate talk, there are a few key acting scenes in this franchise also was commenting on.
3. Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas – Raoul Duke

Hunter S Thompsons book Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas is a terrific read. Then the adaption of that book is a terrific watch. Although the movie is different from its original source, both will be remembered as cult classics. Visually the cinematography helps this drug-filled trip into Las Vegas resulting in dramatic tones executed through narration and graphic behaviour.
4. Blass Mass – James Whitey Bulger

Based on real history, Black Mass tells a story played by Jonny Depp who flawlessly captures the cold-blooded killer to a tee. Maybe how long it was put people off in some people’s reviews, I thought the experience unfolded at a pace worthy of commenting about. Whatever you may find out from this movie it is a one of a kind gangster film that only Johnny Depp could pull off.
5. Public Enemies – John Dillinger

Also based on real-life its depiction of criminals and the law educational regarding the history and the devil is in the details. Although it had a lack of violence, it was very serious. Flowing at a high pace, even though critics had a mixed reaction, I thought it was alright, but more Johnny Depp could have made it into something even more special.
6. Secret Window – Mort Rainey

Inspired by the classic movie, Secret Window is ominous and suspenseful that any writer would love. Paranoid after accusations of plagiarism, Depp is deep in various twists and turns. Strong in every way with some illogical choices in the writing, from start to end you leave with knowing Johnny gave you some impressive
7. Blow – George Jung

In a third biography flic, Blow tells how George Jun and the Medellin Cartel led by Pablo Escobar introduced the cocaine market into the USA in the 1970s.
8. Alice In Wonderland – Mad Hatter

Looking like a Willy Wonka crossed between Michael Jackson, the shortest role goes to his cameo appearance in the classic tale the stands the test of time. Just the sheer strange this he got out of the Mad Hatter is a feat of achievement on its own.
9. Once Upon A Time In Mexico – Sands

Whatever you may think of Robert Rodrigues movies, Depps portray was one of the best parts of the whole film. Underrated to a point, this film displays unique thriller vibes with action blended with the crime. Aligned with an interesting cast, you need to check out this film to judge for yourself.
10. Sleepy Hollow – Ichabod Crane

Watching this one years ago due to it being made in the nineties, it is a gothic nightmare. Being one of the top 3 Tim Burton movies, the horror implemented into each section makes every plot twist even more compelling. The intensity in the mystery with Depp contributing leads in believes fantasy/magic realistically as well.
