Perception is Reality? #FreeVerse #Poetry

Wisdom is the awareness and acknowledgement of the gap between life as you perceive, project and wish it to be and life as it is – and being shrewd and able (moment to moment) to flow, shift, act, adapt or just be accordingly. – Rasheed Ogunlaru

What people perceive is usually what they believe,

Based on what they hear, see and think,

In the world of lies and misinformation that weave,

Objective perception and the ideal reality sync.

Fake it until you make it,

If not, someone else will create it for you,

Your insights are what you emit,

With the harsh realities being hard to chew.

Ego holds you together in existence,

Prone to impressions, judgement and capability,

The truth may seem far out in the distance,

Projecting your senses is only one use showing your utility.

Things are not always what they seem,

Art is the way they want you to see them,

Refections that generate desired steam,

Adding a preferred colour simply becomes the rule of thumb.

Look at what drives our behaviour,

We always strive for the grasp of something higher,

Express thoughts greater than nature,

An ambition to be set on fire.

As the ego blinds your awareness,

Consciousness is unable to change,

Allowing the light in is endless,

Accepting life is a constant and necessary exchange.

Perception needs multiple viewpoints,

Otherwise, emotional responses will arise,

Go through a process of checkpoints,

Then overcome where something morally questionable lies.

Perception may be a reality,

Although not the bottom line,

Attracting what would be,

Perspectives in what is yours are not the same as mine.

The world we see and experience is actually our personal interpretation of vibrational waves. – Melissa Heisler, From Type A to Type Me: How to Stop “Doing” Life and Start Living It
