Crystal Ball #FreeVerse #Poetry

A free verse written by Lee Sonogan

I think we’re in a very exciting time – visually, I think we are. I’ve not got a crystal ball. I’m not saying I know what the future is at all. In some ways I’m getting quite pessimistic about the future, but in other ways I think it might get better. We are moving into very big changes. – David Hockney

You can get so close to the taste of the next big thing,

Some places are only thrown stones in a glasshouse,

Everybody wants to be the fortune teller’s envisage,

Based on jurisdiction coincidences not denying thereabouts.

Contemplate which does fall beneath its own forbode weight,

See the handwriting on the wall premonish,

Cognizant always broad inside innovations what astonish,

There are many ways to take your time while cross-pollinating.

Prognosticating common but growing as we grow,

How oracles under percipience acquisit palmed read,

Somewhat holding what becomes action as a focal ratio,

Because no one has to believe entirely what can become or be said.

A word is not a crystal, transparent and unchanged; it is the skin of a living thought and may vary greatly in color and content according to the circumstances and time in which it is used. – Oliver Wendell Holmes, Jr.
