Pythagoras - Mathematics Geometry Pythagorean

Old mate Pythagoras brings me back to year 12 maths struggle. One more ancient Greek to my lists of quotes, the man was an original in the field of mathematics and philosophy. His body of work influenced people such as Plato and Aristotle, clouding Western philosophy. Scientifically Metempsychosis and Communalism are based on his ideas although the Pythagorean theorem in mathematical equations will remain his proportional name to fame.

  • “If you have a wounded heart, touch it as little as you would an injured eye. There are only two remedies for the suffering of the soul: hope and patience.” ― Pythagoras
  • “We ought so to behave to one another as to avoid making enemies of our friends, and at the same time to make friends of our enemies.” ― Pythagoras
  • “As soon as laws are necessary for men, they are no longer fit for freedom.” ― Pythagoras
  • “Choose always the way that seems the best, however rough it may be; custom will soon render it easy and agreeable.” ― Pythagoras
  • “Souls never die, but always on quitting one abode pass to another. All things change, nothing perishes. The soul passes hither and thither, occupying now this body, now that . . . As a wax is stamped with certain figures, then melted, then stamped anew with others, yet it is always the same wax. So, the Soul being always the same, yet wears at different times different forms.” ― Pythagoras

Interesting if there is a modern translated book to see the origins of math blended with my Greek thought-provoking concepts. Proving some over facts, he though the round was flat before it was changed 100 years later. An advocate for veganism, he claims to live already four times. And his life described in the video below in an intriguing piece of history.
