The Best Places to See Totem Poles in Canada

“I wouldn’t touch a one-eyed teratoma like you with a ten-foot totem pole.” ― Gerri R. Gray, The Strange Adventures of Turquoise Moonwolf

Pyramid-shaped pecking orders,
Scales within a chain of command,
Leading heavy waters,
Into warning amidst general homeland.
Documented hierarchy rising,
Crest lineage validating experience,
Monuments appetizing and moralizing,
Historically non-multifarious.

Representation of priceless tokens,
An object metaphysically for the common good,
Other than particular egotistical slogans,
Generational teachings absorbed through the third eyelid.
Vein of dynasty descendant,
Pedigree for all to see,
Encouraging incentive independence,
Consistent change based on what is to be foreseen.

Every culture that has lost myth has lost,
By the same token, its natural healthy creativity,
Friedrich Nietzsche quote tells the cost,
Only a horizon ringed about with myths can unify a proficiency.

“He liked the staccato beat of the rain drumming on the roof of the carving shed.” ― R.J. Harlick, Silver Totem of Shame: A Meg Harris Mystery
