There is this post that has got me thinking on why we have people all over the place complaining about cultural appropriation.

“Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.” ― Charles Caleb Colton

The short anecdote Random Thoughts post has also got me thinking about this topic. A quick Google search defines the idea of cultural appropriation as the unacknowledged or inappropriate adoption of the customs, practices, ideas, etc. of one people or society by members of another and typically more dominant people or society.

Everything predates any culture or tradition held as sacred. In the obsession of identity, anything you do can be accused as a negative appropriation. Telling people how they can look or behave based on their race or ethnicity is a form of racism. The point of civilization or our species is to share. Anything less further divides us into dumb and unnecessary conflicts.

Integrating all cultures is inevitable in developing a new and overly positive culture. It pushes the drawn lines of creativity beyond the bad chances of stereotypes. Widens perspectives in the values of diversity. And gives the individual an incentive to obtain new achievements outside significant historical norms.

Most of the people complaining about these issues are people in America. The adoption of expressing other cultures is not at the top of most peoples minds. With common sense, the world has larger fish to fry other than pointing out the evolution of life they disagree with. If I am misinformed in any of these comments feel free to comment below.
