“It’s G time not free time.” – Mr G, Summer Heights High
Summer Heights High is a sitcom and a mockumentary written by and starring Chris Lilley. Chris Lilley plays three of the main characters named Mr. G, Ja’mie King and Jonah Takalua who all go to the fictional high-school called Summer Heights High. Summer Heights High has comedy elements that makes fun of the human condition and Australian high-school life.
The personalities of Chris Lilley’s characters are what makes this show good. Because they create several types of conflicts within the stories. For example, this tv show uses adult actors and many child actors. Scenes can get a bit cringy, but the dialogue is hilarious and well-timed. And at some times it becomes realistic and makes you feel some nostalgia.
I watched this show when it was first officially released in Australia. Every now and then I go back and re-watch some of the episodes and as a result, they are still as good the first time I saw it. Definitely, the best show made by Chris Lilley although he has signed up with Netflix and is in the process of making a new 10-part series.
