A tv show review written by: Lee Sonogan
Season 1 – 30min (2018) Animated, fantasy, comedy
The first adult animated sitcom production by Matt Groening for Netflix. Groening is the creator of such animated shows as The Simpsons and Futurama. Unlike these two animated shows, this show is set in a medieval fantasy kingdom called Dreamland. The story is about an alcoholic and rebellious princess, an elf names Eldo and her personal demon named Luci. This show is said to be in the same universe as Futurama and The Simpsons.
While most animated shows and episodes by Groening are designed to be individual stories an episode. This one is an overall continuing story for all the episodes in order. And its running time on average is between 27 to 36 minutes. If you enjoy The Simpsons or Futurama, you will find the voice acting in this show very familiar in the original characters of this show.
Ok, so my thoughts on the show. It has enough of Futurama and Simpsons in it that had me watching the entire first ten episodes of the series. The concept of it is rocky at the start. Then it gets more interesting in the later half thought development. But for the most part, it plays it safe and does not pull off risks like Futurama or The Simpsons back in the day. While it has only the first ten episodes out, there is still more schedules episodes with the potential to improve. I recommend this animated tv show to fan of Matt Groening content. Then it is differently worth checking out.
