Last night I watched Wrestle Kingdon 13 with a slight delay. I was anticipating great wrestling matches on this card. With ten matches at the Tokyo Dome, this show was packed with potential and story. In the following results, I will also shortly comment about each match and a rating.

Matches and Results:
  • Gauntlet match to determine the #1 contenders to the NEVER Openweight 6-Man Tag Team Championship – Most Violent Players (Togi Makabe and Toru Yano) and Ryusuke Taguchi defeated Yuji Nagata, Jeff Cobb and David Finlay, Chaos (Hirooki Goto, Beretta and Chuckie T.), Suzuki-gun (Minoru Suzuki, Lance Archer and Davey Boy Smith Jr.) and The Elite (Hangman Page, Yujiro Takahashi and Marty Scurll) (with Chase Owens and Pieter)

The second longest match of the whole show. Great performances from great tag teams. I rate the match 3.5/5

  • Singles match for the NEVER Openweight Championship – Will Ospreay defeated Kota Ibushi (c)

A technical fast paced match with plenty of well-timed spots. Also very hard hitting. 4/5

  • Three-way tag team match for the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Championship – Los Ingobernables de Japon (Bushi and Shingo Takagi) defeated Suzuki-gun (Yoshinobu Kanemaru and El Desperado) (c) and Roppongi 3K (Sho and Yoh) (with Rocky Romero)

Decent three-way tag team match. 3/5

  • Singles match for the British Heavyweight Championship – Zack Sabre Jr. (with Taka Michinoku) defeated Tomohiro Ishii (c)

Both wrestlers are amazing. Loses points for being short but, gets points for making a point. 3.8/5

  • Three-way tag team match for the IWGP Tag Team ChampionshipLos Ingobernables de Japon (Sanada and Evil) defeated Guerrillas of Destiny (Tama Tonga and Tanga Loa) (c) (with Bad Luck Fale and Jado) and The Young Bucks (Matt Jackson and Nick Jackson)

Always have liked Sanada and Evil since I saw them at the start of last year live. Plus The Young Bucks are always good. 3.5/5

  • Singles match for the IWGP United States Championship -Juice Robinson defeated Cody (c) (with Brandi Rhodes)

Only saw half. Makes sense why Cody lost. 3.5/5

  • Singles match for the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Championship = Taiji Ishimori defeated Kushida (c)

Interesting Back To The Future Entrance. Solid hard hitting and high flying match. 4/5

  • Singles match – Jay White (with Gedo) defeated Kazuchika Okada

Only seeing a few Jay White matches, this was one of the best ones I have seen. 4.25/5

  • No Disqualification match for the IWGP Intercontinental Championship – Tetsuya Naito defeated Chris Jericho (c)

Chris Jericho is awesome and this was a story that I understood. Pretty brutal and fast-paced match with Jericho being of age. 4/5

  • Singles match for the IWGP Heavyweight Championship = Hiroshi Tanahashi defeated Kenny Omega (c) (with Matt Jackson and Nick Jackson)

The Main Event and the longest match of the show. This was a match I was looking forward to and it did not disappoint. 4.5/5

I missed halfway through Cody Rhodes matches. With this being the last The Elite matches for NJPW because their contracts have ended. I was interested in what would happen. Being The Elite on YouTube has kept me up to date on the English side of NJPW and now they might start their very own professional wrestling company with all the member of The Elite.

Please watch my new short film below and tell me what you think?
