Search engine optimization is defined as the process of maximizing the number of visitors to a particular website by ensuring that the site appears high on the list of results returned by a search engine. SEO is a type of quality control for your website or pages while making it ranked higher in internet engine searches, such as Google and more. 75% of SEO is off-page and 25% is on-page.
If you have a website or have a business, it needs to be able to be found and seen within thousands of other related sites and content. The algorithms of online search engines are very complicated and tend to change frequently. SEO requires a lot of research, website site foundations, content marketing plans, links on other websites and some tools to acquire search engine optimization success.
About a year ago, I learnt of SEO and I had to learn it using a tool for WordPress called Yoast SEO. There it gives me scores of Needs Improvement, Ok, and Good on the Readability and overall score. Or Red, Orange and Green. Clicking on this options it tells you what you need to change to improve the scores on the content. Doing this with every post since I have gotten better at understanding it.
One of the most important parts for the SEO score if your keywords. Using a keyword or key phase should be releated to what you are creating or similar towards your business. Using the free Yoast SEO, I only get one keyword, but I still manage to get it green using an appropriate keyword. Improving your SEO score, your keyword needs to be in your title, first paragraph links to your own site, and more factors depending on what you have written.
Readability Score factors on WordPress:
- Passive voice
- Sentence length
- Transition words
- Flesch Reading Ease
- Consecutive sentences
- Subheading distribution
- Paragraph length
- Much more!
Overall doing search engine optimization is different for every post depending on what you right. This is why I highly recommend using an SEO tool or program to make your scores as best as they can without getting confused. SEO does help new and old content to be re-seen and researched. It is one of the key factors that keeps traffic coming to this website.
