Barney: Haaaaave you met Ted?

The series follows the main character, Ted Mosby and his group of friends in New York City’s Manhattan. Ted dated at least 29 women who aren’t the mother. The show was nominated for 30 Emmy Awards, winning ten of them. As a structuring device, Ted, in the year 2030, retells the stories to his children the events that led him to meet their mother. The show stars Josh Radnor, Jason Segel, Cobie Smulders and Neil Patrick Harris.

The is many great moments. Each character has the ability to create emotional reactions more than just humour. It delivers recurring gags that never get old in new kinds of context. It was innovative compared to other shows in the same type of genre. Its ability to show wit and develop a story makes this show addictive to watch. At least for my experience when I was watching new a few years ago now.

Fun facts about How I Met Your Mother:
  • Five books that are related to the show have been published. This includes the now famous, “The Bro Code” and, “The Playbook”.
  • There are 13 interventions done in the series.
  • Jim Parsons, who stars in The Big Bang Theory, auditioned for the role of Barney Stinson.
  • There are only 18 times throughout the entire series that Barney shows up without a suit. The most viewed episode of the series is “The Pineapple Incident” from season 1 and the least viewed episode is “Landmarks” from season 6.
  • The clock in Marshall and Teds apartment is always set at 4:20. Except for episode 7.2, it is set to 14.10
  • Probably much more

I followed this show from the first season to the last. While being a silly sitcom show based in New York it has many storylines and concepts that will get you invested. From the best character Barney to the relatable and always fun scenes. I have fond memories of this show and now I want to rewatch it all again. The ending left fans believing the finale contradicted many of the previous episodes. I recommend this comedy sitcom to people who are looking for a quality fun show to binge watch.

7.69/10

Barney: It’s gonna be legend-… wait for it… and I hope you’re not lactose intolerant because the second half of that word is DAIRY!
