“If you think it’s time to fucking rock, and fucking roll, out of control,
well then you know you got to rock the block,
and fucking suck my fucking cock,
’cause when you rule, you fucking school all of the fools, out of their jewels,
’cause if you think it’s time,
if you think it’s time,
if you think it’s time to fucking rock.” – Classico – The Pick of Destiny, Tenacious D

The Pick of Destiny is the second album by Tenacious D. An American comedy rock band that is the soundtrack/concept album for their film of the same name. The Pick of Destiny is the band’s first studio release in five years, following up their 2001 self-titled debut Tenacious D. It was released on November 14, 2006, through Epic Records. A week or two before the they released The Pick of Destiny Movie.

The album was released in three separate edits. A dirty edit comprising the full film versions. Clean edit with re-recorded vocals replacing foul language with non-sense words. And a limited edition album. The special limited edition was released in a cardboard “old book case”, which includes a digipack version of the album and much more rare D content.

Tracklist for the album:
  • Kickapoo
  • Classico
  • Baby
  • Destiny
  • History
  • The Government Totally Sucks
  • Master Exploder
  • The Divide
  • Papagenu
  • Dude (I Totally Miss You)
  • Break In-City (Storm the Gate!)
  • Car Chase city
  • Beelzeboss (The Final showdown)

  • The Metal

When released it debuted at number 8 on the Billboard 200. some of the songs include appearances by Meat Loaf, Ronnie James Dio, and Dave Grohl. In the album and in the movie. Overall Tenacious D is one of the best comedic teams to create music. Watching Jack Black and Kyle Gass’s new YouTube show, Post-Apocalypto, I had to check out this concept album once again. With having multiple genres, anyone could potentially listen to this album and enjoy it. I recommend this album to fans of music that has also got comedy elements in it.

“But yay there was a black sheep,
And he knew just what to do,
His name was young J.B.
And he refused to step in line.” – Kickapoo – The Pick of Destiny, Tenacious D
