This video game is a multiplayer tactical first-person shooter. It is known for its competitive game modes and intelligent AI. Gameplay is fast pace and intense at most times. Developed and published by New World Interactive it is a standalone sequel to the video game Insurgency: Modern Infantry Combat. A community mod for the video game Valve’s Source engine. This video game is available to buy on Microsoft Windows, OS X and Linux. You can play this game in stealth or rush your enemies. Both ways feel rewarding as you process in your game.

Unlike many other shooting video games it has a very simple HUD screen. And also lacks virtual crosshairs, ammunition, player health counters and mini-maps. With these limitations it definitely makes the video game very challenging. To make it even harder one shot to the head and your dead. These features are also what Insurgency is known for. At the beginning of each game, players are able to select a variety of weapons. Players have a certain amount of supply points to spend on purchasing weapons/modifications. Playing against AI also, they are some of the most intelligent enemies in video games I have seen.

As of January 22, 2014 the video game was officially released. But in 2012 is when the game concept was created. Since the mode on Modern Infantry Combat got noticed a Kickstarter was made for the laugh of Insurgency for $180,000. The crowd funding method failed with only 37% of the money being raised. After running out of funds it was put in early access on steam. After ten months of early acess the developers of the game were able to finish the game from feedback provided from the community.

Online Game Modes and Cooperative Game Modes:
  • Push
  • Firefight
  • Skirmish
  • Occupy
  • Ambush
  • Strike
  • Infiltrate
  • Flashpoint
  • Elimination
  • Checkpoint
  • Hunt
  • Survival
  • Outpost
  • Conquer

3.76 million people own Insurgency on Steam.  I brough this video game years ago close to when it first came out. Then I played a decent amount of time on it. With its limitations on the battlefield this video game feels realistic compared to other shooter video games. Since there will be a new Insurgency out on September 18,2018 on Steam it has inspired me to create this review. I recommend this video game to all fans of shooters who want a new challenge and a new quality video game.
