“Are you afraid to die? Not me!” – Bjorn
Near the end of the year Vikings will be returning November 28, 2018. After 10 episodes in the first part of the two-part season, we will be getting 10 more that are new. Even before the fifth season had premiered, Vikings had been renewed for a 20-episode season 6. As the show’s status as one of the most violent television series, what is there to expect and who is coming back? Anything could happen. I wanna see what Rollo does with Ivar and see what they end up doing with Floki.
Airing on History in America it will be available world-wide on Amazon Prime. Making her directional debut Queen Lagertha, aka Katheryn Winnick will be directing one episode of season 5. Due to the of the first half of season 5 some fans are worried that she will not be acting in the show. She will be directing a new Netflix show called, Wu Assassins. She is in the trailer below in a few scenes so I do not know.
The first half of season six won’t air until November 2019. One thing that is known about season six is that Russian actor Danila Kozlovsky will be joining the show as tge historical figure Oleg of Novgorod, a Viking prince who conquered cities and was also known as Oleg the Prophet. His role hints at season six expanding further east as the real-life Oleg was a Varangian who sailed the rivers of Ukraine, Russia and Belarus.
I am soon keen to watch this show every week again! Watching the trailer only today it looks like there will be many battle scenes and great cinematic shots out through the season. The shows war scenes have always been amazing and I hope the new stuff is even better. I highly recommend going back and watching all the past seasons of this television series. It is totally worth doing. The character Ragnar alone is worthy of seeing in action.
“Vikings has evolved from early raids in England to the heart-stopping death of Ragnar Lothbrok, to the fierce battles of the Great Heathen Army, and now we’ll see the sons of Ragnar exploring and conquering the known world.” – History Channel Executive, Eli Lehrer
