(1865) Bourbon, whiskey
One of the best valued bourbon in Australia. Cougar is made from bourbon and whiskey. Produced in Lawrenceburg, Indiana in the USA, it is an export brand that is bottled and commericial sold in Australia and New Zealand. It is sold at 37% alchol by volume in bottles. The brand is owned by Foster’s Group which is a division of SABMiller. In Indiana the MGP distillers are a source of America’s top rating bourbon.
With themes of corn, grain and bitter oak, it has a good balance. The sour whiskey may give it a bitter aftertaste but not as strong compared to most whiskeys. The intensity various with cans and the straight stuff. In 2014 and 2015 Whisky Bible, Jim Murray scored Cougar Bourbon 95 out of 100, making it higher than Pappy Van Winkle and many other much more expensive bourbons.
I like the sharp and crisp taste of it. It hits the spot. As I age I appriate the taste of bitter and sour more. This alholic bevergae premixed is my preferred choice over a bottle. It may even be in my top 3 favourie types of bourbon. Being so famous in Australia I can see how it has lasted so long. I reccomend this alcoholic beverage to people who enjoy whiskey or new bourbon types.
