Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel links, a video game review

A video game review written by: Lee Sonogan

(2017) Mobile, Steam/Card game, freemium

More Yu-Gi-Oh content! This is one of the worst Yu-Gi-Oh games out there. Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Links is an Android, iOS and PC game. Its name is likely taken from the Duel Links system featured in ‘TRANSCEND GAME’ and Yu-Gi-Oh! The Dark Side of Dimensions. The gameplay of the game is much different then most other Yu-Gi-Oh games out there.

You can get this game for free because it is a freemium type of game. This means you have to play it lots to unlock more cards in the game. Do not expect to make heaps of different decks in the game to you. You have to pay real life money to unlock the best cards in the game.

The game only has a certain amount of cards in it at the moment. Which limits you to collecting normal monsters for your decks. All the AI will have many decks with normal cards in it as well. This makes the game very frustrating by doing the same thing over and over.

The gameplay changes are that there is only 3 monster zones and spell and trap card zones. And deck sizes have gone down to 20 cards a deck. Also life points are 4000. This makes the game faster but, it limits the fun of the game. There is an online mode that is a little better. Do not try online mode unless you are willing to put some money into the game.

Next time I need to delete something, I am going to delete this game of my steam. It is very repetitive and the auto dueling feature does not help. Using 5 bucks in the game did not help much either. Only good to make one deck and get some gems. I only recommend this game to playing who are learning the game as beginners. Other than that I would say to avoid it and use 20 bucks to buy Yu-Gi-Oh Legacy of a Duelist.
