PlayersUnknown’s BattleGrounds, a video game review

A video game review by: Lee Sonogan

(2017) First/Third person – Survival, shooter

A open world shooter survival game that’s worth reviewing. Developed by Bluehole Inc, it is only for PC, Xbox one and Playstation Portable. It can be put in the genre of battle royale video games and it is highly competitive online. It has sold over eight million copies within its first five months of release.

The gameplay is the most interesting part of the game. Play solo or in groups and try to survive out the rest of the people. You all start by parachuting out of a plane and landing out in the large map. The more out you go the more safe you will be to get supplies. As the game continues, the map pushes you to the center of the map. This feature continues until there’s a circle area of the map the size of one floor of a building.

The weapons, attachments, ammo and recovery items are the supplies you need. There are hundreds of different items you can find in all the different structures/buildings. Grenades, shotguns, cross bows, sniper rifles, assault rifles, sub machine guns and even many melee weapons.

Being online, this game is very hectic. I have played it for six hours and probably need more practise at it. Other features to look forward to is the vehicles and the fact it is still in beta. so there’s so much more that it can be in the future. Already I can confidently say that it is better than Day Z and way more fun to play. The shoot outs in it is truly the definition of the golden age of first person shooters. I recommend this video game to everyone who wants the next interesting shooting game to play. You will not be disappointed.
