Bad Santa 2 is about a man called Willie who is fueled by greed, hatred and cheap whiskey. Becoming Santa once again, he intends to pull off another robbery on Christmas eve. With a budget of 26 million, it failed to make it back, only making $23,782,178 at the box office. The sequel was set to be released on November 23, 2016, 13 years after the original release date.

The movies main actors are Billy Bob Thornton, Kathy Bates, Tony Cox and Brett Kelly. Willie claims his birthday is August 4th in the film. This is actually Billy Bob’s birthday. Brett Kelly was slimmer after becoming an adult but gained more than 40 pounds to reprise his role as Thurman. He consumed many smoked meat sandwiches in Montreal, where the film was shot, to quickly obtain the desired weight.

Going in I was expecting a bad movie because of all the bad reviews. I liked the first one and was surprised by the different ratings between the two movies. Going in it displayed a very similar comedy. Some good and some over the top. For a heist movie, the story keeps you interested. The ending scene ends with a worthwhile twist and a Santa rave. I recommend this movie to fans of the original, out-there comedy and the scenes with brutal Kathy Bate and Billy Bob Thornton.

This film was made for the fans of the original Bad Santa. Funny and full of hidden kindness. Billy bob Thornton and Tony cox are the abbot and Costello of today. Perfect timing and a great script make this a fun film to watch. As for the critics not giving this film a good review all I can say is, well critics are people without the talent to make it as actors producers or writers. BAD SANTA 2 is a wonderful sequel. – Michael Lipowski (Google Review – 5/5)
