Issues and answers: Part 3
Written by Lee Sonogan
“The rate of progress is so rapid that what one learns at school or university is always a bit out of date. Only a few people can keep up with the rapidly advancing frontier of knowledge, and they have to devote their whole time to it and specialize in a small area. The rest of the population has little idea of the advances that are being made
or the excitement they are generating.”
― Stephen Hawking, A Brief History of Time
From a sprout to moving it we need to grow like a tree. There are billions of people on the planet Earth. Try to consider the power our species could have if things were a little different. If each individual could contribute in a new system, our growth could expend in a very little time. It has not been done yet because the nature of people. Greed and selfishness will always exist as people push through the threshold to get to there desires eventually or at least try to. Remember these themes as you read along all the parts of the series so far: change, corporation, unity, beginnings, potential and growth. The following is thoughts and ideas I have resourced and learned.
At this current time most governments barely maintain the status quo. Then there are rich countries and poor countries. There differences are extreme. Most progress of the world had made is mostly in entertainment and technology. Politics, people and systems are divided as ever. When we could easily implement ideas solely to improve things and people in all areas. For example, systems to help and give each person what they need. Reduce power and money of the ones who have it way better than the average joe. Changes in education, logistics, order, criminals, human rights, social issues, housing, immigration, consumerism, politics and more would be a refreshing change of pace.
For over 200 years, mostly things have stayed the same. People need to know there is alternative systems out there and people have been trying to get their ideas out there. Don’t get me wrong, there’s a decent amount of people and groups making a difference that is working in a positive way., and so much more out there. I have resourced some of these and they are created by some very smart people. Jacque Fresco said “There are no bad people, there are people with insufficient information to make appropriate decisions,”. Making people aware of information is important and most of it should be available to the public. One source of information where we can belive and have faith in that all the information is fact.
People who are making a difference and effort:
- Bill Gates
- Elon Musk
- The Venus project
- The Zeitgeist movement
- The human potential movement
- Various scientists
- Activists and self-taught teachers
- Julian Assange
- Edward Snowden
- Satoshi Nakamo
- Neil deGrasse Tyson
- Stephan Hawking
- Bernie Sanders
- Gilead Sciences
- George Soros
- Mark Zuckerberg
- Elton John
- J.K Rowling
- Joe Rogan
- Russel Brand
- Donators to charities that do positive things
- So much more people and groups
Bill gates said “If you give people tools, and they use their natural abilities and their curiosity, they will develop things in ways that will surprise you very much beyond what you might have expected,”. Similar to what Franklin D. Roosvelt said “The test of our progress is not whether we add more to the abundance of those who have much; it is whether we provide enough for those who have too little,”. Give the people with nothing a chance. One hundreds of thousands of people die each day and one hundred millions die every year. Our species is very wasteful and if aliens exist, they would think our kind is some kind of a germ/infection. Maybe if we change and corporate more, they might want to visit us.
Information is growing. The data volumes are exploding, more data has been created in the past two years than in the entire previous history of the human race. Data is growing faster than ever before and by the year 2020, about 1.7 megabytes of new information will be created every second for every human being on the planet. By then, our accumulated digital universe of data will grow from 4.4 zettabyets today to around 44 zettabytes, or 44 trillion gigabytes. We are seeing a massive growth in video and photo data, where every minute up to 300 hours of video are uploaded to YouTube alone. Is all this information too much? These days it seems when you read an article if the information is not sourced, its hard to know whats the truth and what is not.
“Without continual growth and progress, such words as improvement, achievement, and success have no meaning,”. – Benjamin Franklin
