With a budget of 25 million, this movie earned 22,053,600 at the box office. Do not let that stop you from watching the movie tho. This movie is about a guard at an armoured car company and one of the biggest bank heists in American history. The story is based on the October 1997 Loomis Fargo robbery. The top three stars in this movie are Zach Galifianakis, Kate McKinnon and Kristen Wiig.

The theatrical trailer debuted in the Will Ferrell/ Kevin Hart film “Get Hard” Friday, March 27th, 2015, then released worldwide in October of this year. Was originally titled Loomis Fargo. It changed to Armored Car before settling on Masterminds. Based on the 1997 Loomis Fargo Bank Robbery in Charlotte, North Carolina. $17.3 million in cash was stolen.

Jared Hess is the director of this movie. You might know his work from movies such as Nacho Libre, Napolean Dynamite, and more movies. The first film he directed, that he did not also write.

The real-life David Ghantt played by Zach Galifianakis had a cameo on Jimmy Kimmel Live! Jason Sudeikis, Leslie Jones, Kate McKinnon and Kristen Wiig were all in Saturday Night Live. Kate McKinnon’s character was originally simply named Karen. Kate suggested to the director that she be named Jaundice, which he changed to Jandice to make it sound more like a real name.

To conclude this review, it’s barely an interesting movie. Over the top, awkward, and not well-written comedy jokes. The real-life figures who robbed that bank would be nothing like these comedy actors are trying to portray. But how ridiculous it gets, there is a few laughs and worthwhile scenes. SPOILERS! Owen Wilson and Jason Sudeikis also play important supporting characters in the story. By the end, I was disappointed. I would not really recommend this movie to anyone unless you are a fan of bad movies on all different kinds of levels.

5.6/10
