Nintendo has said that this new console is going to be released next year in March globally. Codenamed NX, this new gaming platform is said to be developed with a brand-new concept. With the news game The legend of Zelda: Breath of the wild, it really shows the potential of what this new console can do and handle. The NX is one of the most talked about products in the gaming industry right now.

What we know so far:

• It’s available for pre-order at select retailers
• It exists, but Iwata said it won’t be ready in 2015
• A marketing partner for Nintendo confirmed third-party support for the NX
• The NX might lanch with the new Legend of Zelda game
• Nintendo will still support Wii U and 3DS when the NX is released.

In a recent interview with Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot, he had this to say. “You can expect we’ll support Nintendo. Nintendo is one of the best partners in the world”. Recently  they have announced that Just Dance 2017 will be on the NX.

However, this console is going to face some stiff competition from its new rivials. As Sony and Microsoft annouce there own new video game consoles. Just before E3 Sony announced the existence of the Ps4 Neo and then shortly after, Microsoft announced theres called Project Scropio.

Nintendo is closing it’s Club Nintendo membership by september and are “working hard to create a new program”.

“As far as NX goes, I’ve said it’s different and obviously a new experience,” Kimishima said. “That being said, I can assure you we’re not building the next version of Wii or Wii U. It’s something unique and different. It’s something where we have to move away from those platforms in order to make it something that will appeal to our consumer base.” – Nintendo president, Tatsumi Kmishima.

I am excited for this console. Not having a Nintendo console since the Wii, i am highly considering getting this console when it comes out. With exciting games like Splatoon, Super mario maker and Pokken Tournament, the new console will have the potential to surpass them. I personally want a new open world Pokemon game on it. Released March 2017.
